Chaos has ensued at British airports this week as a nationwide border system issue caused electronic gates to fail. This disruption is causing delays and long queues for passengers arriving into the country, with some having to wait up to two hours before being able to pass through the border control.
The UK Home Office has said that they are working hard on resolving the problem but have not yet provided any further details about what exactly caused it or when it will be fixed. In response, many airlines have been forced to take action for their customers’ journeys not to be disrupted too much – such as providing additional staff members at check-in desks and offering alternative routes where possible.
Despite these efforts, however, there is still a lot of frustration amongst those affected by this issue – particularly holidaymakers who were expecting an easy journey home from their vacation only for them now face lengthy waits due to no fault of their own. The government must act quickly to restore normal service as soon as possible so that people can continue traveling without any more unnecessary delays or stress added to their journeys.
