Tragic Fall at Zion National Park Claims Life of Utah Tech CEO
Justin Bingham, CEO of Lindon-based software company Opiniion, died tragically following a 200-foot fall at Zion National Park during a canyoneering expedition. The incident occurred near the exit of Heaps Canyon on Saturday, October 5, where Bingham was accompanied by three others on a permitted trip.
Park officials reported that the fall was called in around 6 p.m., prompting an immediate response from the Zion National Park Technical Search and Rescue Team and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Despite emergency medical efforts, Bingham was pronounced dead at the scene before he could be transported to a hospital.
The three other canyoners involved in the expedition were safely extracted by 2 p.m. the following day, concluding a complex rescue operation in the challenging terrain.
Bingham, known for his leadership at Opiniion, a company specializing in property management solutions, was remembered for his passion for outdoor adventures and his visionary approach to business. In a statement, Opiniion highlighted Bingham’s significant impact and his adventurous spirit that extended beyond the boardroom.
