Actor Tom Sizemore, known for his roles in films such as Saving Private Ryan, has been recommended by doctors to make end-of-life decisions. The 61-year-old actor suffered a brain aneurysm on February 18th of this year according to his manager.
The news comes after years of health issues that have plagued the actor since he was diagnosed with cancer in 2012 and had surgery shortly thereafter. Since then, Sizemore has struggled with addiction and other mental health problems which were further complicated by the aneurysm earlier this year.
Sizemore’s loved ones are now faced with making difficult decisions about how best to support him during these trying times while also honoring his wishes if any exist regarding end-of-life care or treatments should they become necessary down the road. They remain hopeful that he will pull through but recognize that it may be time for them to begin planning as advised by medical professionals who have seen fit to recommend end-of-life decision-making at this point given Sizemore’s current condition and prognosis going forward.
