Meekah, thank you for joining us today, excited to have you here. Can you tell us a little bit about your company, Ancient Secrets Beauty?
My pleasure! My business was birthed out of pain. It was a time for a change in my life, and pain is often the catalyst for change. I am a firm believer that sometimes you must be uncomfortable before you become comfortable. How did I come up with the idea?
During this time, I was suffering terrible pain in my lower back. I later found out my disc was completely gone and was affected by the nerves in my back.
I am a dreamer and often saw things ahead of time through dreams. The was my communication with God. I kept a notebook on my nightstand to often write down my dreams. One night I was dreaming of ingredients and how to use them for pain. I later researched them and got a certification in holistic healing. I began testing the formula on myself and my family. However, I kept it a secret for many years. A lot of the ingredients were used since 2000 bc by Kings and Queens in Egypt. As a result, I named the business Ancient Secrets Beauty.
Amazing! What inspired you to start your company?
What inspired me to start my business was a desire for independence and financial freedom. I feel that I will spend my life building my dreams or supporting someone else’s.
I can attest to that! What were the greatest challenges you’ve faced when starting out?
My greatest challenge was not having a mentor or formula at the time to help me. The majority of what I did consisted of lots of prayer, trial, and error. That can sometimes be scary for a new business owner.
Absolutely, so, do you feel there are fundamental differences between generations when using your products?
I don’t perceive a big difference in generations. Most of my customers look for the same thing, and that is results.
That’s what we all want! What has the overall feedback been from customers about Ancient Secrets Beauty products?
The overall feedback I get is, “This stuff works.” As if there are in shock. Lol.
I might have to try it out myself! Lastly, how have the recent economic events, namely due to the pandemic, affected your business.
I am grateful that the economy has not affected my business. Due to COVID, many people are finding comfort in shopping online versus going to stores. My business is partially eCommerce, so that worked perfectly for me.
