Tesla Inc. is making strides in the renewable energy industry as they are planning to open a Megapack factory in Shanghai, China. This news was announced by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Inc., who said that this new factory will supplement the output of their existing Lathrop California Megafactory.
The Shanghai facility will be used to manufacture battery cells and packs for electric vehicles and stationary storage systems, which can store excess electricity generated from solar panels or wind turbines. The construction process is expected to begin soon with an estimated completion date of the sometime next year 2021.
This move marks another step forward for Tesla’s goal of providing clean energy solutions on a global scale while also helping them meet the growing demand for their products due to increasing popularity among consumers worldwide. It also provides an opportunity for local employment as well as economic growth in the region where it is located since it requires a skilled labor force during its operation phase too along with the construction phase itself.
In conclusion, this new factory could prove beneficial not only for Tesla but also for other companies looking into green energy solutions, such as solar panel manufacturers or wind turbine producers who may benefit from increased production capacity provided by this plant once operational.
