Taiwan is set to become a leader in the field of supercomputing with two new Nvidia supercomputers, Taiwania 2 and Taipei-1. The former will be used for climate science while the latter will focus on healthcare, robotics, and industrial digital twins.
The news was announced by Taiwan’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) on June 5th, 2023. It marks an important milestone in Taiwan’s development as it looks to become a global hub for artificial intelligence research.
The two computers are expected to be completed by 2024 at the earliest, but no exact date has been given yet. They are being built using Nvidia GPUs, which provide high-performance computing capabilities that can help tackle some of today’s most challenging problems, such as climate change or medical diagnosis accuracy improvement through AI applications.
The MOST also stated that both machines would adhere strictly to international standards when it comes to data security measures so users can rest assured their information is safe from malicious actors or hackers attempting illicit access attempts.
Taiwanese citizens should look forward with anticipation to this ambitious project which promises great potential benefits not only domestically but across the Asia Pacific region too!
