Samsung Unveils AI-Powered Home Appliances with Advanced Features
Samsung has introduced a new line of AI-enhanced home appliances, showcasing its commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into everyday household tasks. The tech giant’s latest offerings include the Bespoke AI Jet Ultra cordless stick vacuum, featuring an advanced AI cleaning mode and an LCD display control panel capable of displaying notifications, including phone calls and texts. This innovative vacuum boasts 400AW suction power and a 100-minute battery life, complemented by an auto-empty charging station for added convenience.
Expanding its AI capabilities, Samsung has also unveiled the Bespoke AI Laundry Vented Combo washer/dryer. This appliance is equipped with a 7-inch LCD screen, allowing users to answer calls and manage laundry tasks seamlessly. The washer/dryer combo includes automatic detergent dispensing and door opening features, further enhancing user convenience.
In a move to unify its smart home ecosystem, Samsung has introduced AI Home control panels across its Bespoke AI line, including smart fridges and wall ovens. These panels are compatible with both Android and iOS devices through the SmartThings app, offering features such as music playback, weather updates, cooking apps, and smart home controls.
The company’s smart fridge lineup now offers options ranging from slimmed-down screens to larger displays with expanded app capabilities. Integrated with the Samsung Food app, these fridges utilize AI-powered cameras for recipe management and seamless interaction with other Samsung appliances.
Samsung’s AI Home screens connect to the company’s SmartThings platform, enabling enhanced smart home integration. Users can receive alerts and interact with devices like Ring video doorbells directly from their appliances, creating a more connected home environment.
While Samsung’s “screens everywhere” approach aims to integrate AI into daily life, concerns have been raised about potential obsolescence and malfunction of tech-heavy touchscreens. Additionally, questions about privacy and the potential for screens to display advertisements, similar to Amazon’s Echo Show, have emerged. Samsung has yet to address these concerns publicly.
