North Korea’s attempt to launch a spy satellite into space failed as the rocket crashed into the ocean. The attempted launch was conducted on Sunday, April 12th, and was intended to be a show of strength for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The mission failed shortly after takeoff when it became clear that something had gone wrong with the rocket and it began veering off course. Despite attempts by North Korean engineers to correct its trajectory, it eventually plunged back down toward Earth before crashing into an area of water near Japan’s coastline.
This is not the first time that North Korea has made an unsuccessful attempt at launching a satellite; previous launches have also failed due to technical issues or a lack of fuel supply. It remains unclear what caused this particular mission’s demise but experts believe there may have been some kind of malfunction with either one or more components within the rocket itself or perhaps even human error during pre-launch preparations.
Regardless, these failures will likely continue unless significant improvements are made both in terms of technology and training standards for personnel involved in such operations — otherwise, any future attempts at sending satellites up beyond our atmosphere are doomed from start until finish!
