Celebrities Flock to Milan Fashion Week’s Final Day of Runway Shows
Milan Fashion Week reached its crescendo on Saturday as A-list celebrities descended upon the Italian fashion capital for the last major day of runway shows. The star-studded event saw Madonna, Naomi Campbell, and Victoria De Angelis of Maneskin gracing the front row at Dolce & Gabbana, while Maneskin frontman Damiano David attended the Diesel show. Actor Jacob Elordi was spotted at the Bottega Veneta presentation.
Dolce & Gabbana’s show paid homage to Madonna’s 1990s heyday, featuring models in bleach-blonde wigs strutting in signature corsets and fitted jackets adorned with the iconic cone bra. The collection, titled “Italian Beauty,” captured the essence of the era with floral prints and oversized cross earrings. Madonna, attempting a low-key entrance, arrived draped in a black veil and was later greeted by the designers.
Bottega Veneta’s creative director Matthieu Blazy explored the intersection of reality and fantasy in his collection. Models sported playful details like flat collars shaped as bunny ears and crinkled clothes reminiscent of children dressing up. The brand’s trademark woven bags were reimagined for unconventional items such as violins and wine bottles.
Ferragamo’s show, led by creative director Maximilian Davis, celebrated the freedom of movement inherent in ballet. Inspired by archival photos of Salvatore Ferragamo fitting African American ballet dancer Katherine Dunham, the collection linked the brand’s Italian heritage with Davis’s Jamaican roots. Long parachute dresses in various fabrics and cashmere dancer wraps emphasized fluidity and grace.
Diesel’s presentation stood out with models walking on a field of 14,800 kilograms of denim scraps, highlighting the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Under creative director Glenn Martens, Diesel showcased innovative designs including distressed necklines on cotton sweatshirts and jeans lasered to appear destroyed. The brand’s focus on circularity was evident in pieces made from recycled materials and leftover denim thread.
As Milan Fashion Week concludes, these shows have set the stage for next spring and summer’s fashion trends, blending nostalgia, innovation, and sustainability.
