Microsoft Expands Copilot Vision to Windows and Mobile Platforms
Microsoft has announced a significant expansion of its Copilot Vision feature, extending its capabilities beyond web browsers to Windows and mobile platforms. Previously limited to guiding users through Edge webpages, the AI-powered tool will now analyze real-time video from mobile cameras and offer enhanced functionality across Windows PCs.
The Copilot Vision feature is set to launch inside the Copilot app for iOS and Android, providing users with practical advice on various topics. Mobile users can expect assistance with tasks such as plant care and home decoration tips, leveraging the power of AI to analyze their surroundings through their device’s camera.
On the Windows front, the Copilot app will support Vision capabilities across the entire PC ecosystem. This expansion allows the AI assistant to coach users on complex software like Adobe Photoshop and analyze photos and webpages. It’s important to note that this feature differs from the Recall feature available on Copilot Plus PCs, which automatically takes snapshots.
Microsoft plans to make Copilot Vision on Windows available to Windows Insiders next week for initial testing. A broader rollout is expected to follow once the testing phase is complete, although specific dates have not been announced.
In addition to the Vision expansion, Microsoft is introducing new features to Copilot, including memory and personalization capabilities. The AI assistant will now support web-based actions, podcast creation, and deep research functionalities, further enhancing the user experience.
This expansion of Copilot Vision represents Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to integrating AI technology across its platforms, potentially revolutionizing how users interact with their devices and access information. As the feature rolls out to more users, it will be interesting to observe its impact on productivity and user engagement across Windows and mobile ecosystems.
