Mercedes-Benz Unveils New Apple Watch App for Enhanced Vehicle Control
Luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz has launched a new Apple Watch app, bringing the functionality of its mobile application directly to users’ wrists. This innovative move allows vehicle owners to interact with their cars without the need for a smartphone, joining other major automakers like Honda, Ford, and Volvo in expanding their watchOS capabilities.
The app, now available through the Apple Watch App Store, is compatible with devices running watchOS 9 or later. To utilize the app, users must have the Mercedes-Benz mobile app installed on their connected iPhone.
Key features of the new app include the ability to monitor vehicle charge or fuel levels and estimated range, remotely lock and unlock the vehicle, and check if windows are closed. Additionally, users can locate their parked vehicles with pedestrian-friendly navigation directions, and a virtual compass is provided for areas without mapping.
Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that feature availability may vary depending on the vehicle’s model and equipment. The app is compatible with 2019 and newer Mercedes-Benz models, offering a seamless integration of technology and luxury for recent vehicle owners.
