LG Unveils Cutting-Edge Gaming Monitors for 2025, Including Bendable OLED Display
LG Electronics has revealed its 2025 lineup of gaming monitors ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), showcasing innovative technology that pushes the boundaries of display capabilities. The star of the lineup is the UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor, which LG touts as the “world’s first 5K2K-resolution bendable OLED display.”
The flagship model, 45GX990A, features a 45-inch screen with a resolution of 5120×2160 and a 21:9 aspect ratio, designed to provide an immersive gaming experience while also catering to productivity needs. This versatile monitor can transition from a flat screen to a 900R curvature, adapting to user preferences.
LG has equipped the bendable monitor with its Dual-Mode feature, allowing users to switch between resolution and refresh rate presets. The display also offers customizable aspect ratios and picture sizes, enhancing its flexibility for various uses. Gaming enthusiasts will appreciate its certification for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, although details on maximum refresh rates are yet to be disclosed.
For those who prefer a fixed display, LG is also introducing a non-bendable variant with a permanent 800R curve. This model shares the same 45-inch size, aspect ratio, and 5K2K resolution as its bendable counterpart. It boasts impressive specifications, including a 0.03ms (GtG) response time, DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. The monitor utilizes an RGWB subpixel layout to enhance text readability.
Expanding its offerings, LG is set to launch the UltraGear 39GX90SA, a curved monitor that doubles as a webOS-powered “home entertainment hub.” This 39-inch display features a 21:9 aspect ratio and 800R curve, providing easy access to streaming services. It comes equipped with USB Type-C ports and an ergonomic L-shaped stand, optimizing both connectivity and space efficiency.
While specific pricing and release dates for these monitors are yet to be announced, LG has confirmed they will be available later in 2025. Tech enthusiasts and industry professionals are eagerly anticipating the first in-person look at the UltraGear GX9 series at the upcoming CES in Las Vegas.
As the consumer electronics industry continues to evolve, LG’s latest offerings set a high bar for display technology. With CES on the horizon, expectations are high for more groundbreaking screen innovations from other leading manufacturers in the coming days.
