NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has captured an incredible image of a Wolf-Rayet star, which is on the brink of exploding into a supernova. This type of star is incredibly massive and can be up to 20 times larger than our sun. It also emits intense radiation that makes it stand out among other stars in its vicinity.
The image taken by the telescope shows the bright blue core surrounded by a nebula cloud made up of dust and gas particles that have been ejected from its surface due to strong stellar winds caused by its extreme heat. The colors seen in this stunning picture are created as light interacts with these clouds, giving us an insight into what happens when such powerful forces come together within space.
This particular Wolf-Rayet star will soon explode into one last brilliant burst before fading away forever; however, thanks to NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope we now have an amazing glimpse at this fascinating event before it occurs!
