Fujifilm Unveils Instax Wide Evo Hybrid Instant Camera
Fujifilm has announced the latest addition to its popular Instax line, the Instax Wide Evo Hybrid Instant Camera. Set to hit the market in February 2025, this innovative device combines the functionality of an instant camera with that of a smartphone printer, utilizing Instax’s Wide format instant film.
The Instax Wide Evo is slated for release at a price point of $349.95. Accompanying the launch are a matching black case, available for $49.99, and a new Instax Wide film featuring a metallic border, priced at $24.99.
Designed to accommodate the wider film stock, the Instax Wide Evo boasts a 15.67mm wide-angle lens, the widest ever featured on an Instax camera. Users have the option to toggle off the lens for closer cropping, offering versatility in image composition.
In lieu of a traditional viewfinder, the camera relies on a 3.5-inch LCD screen for framing and menu navigation. A small mirror on the front facilitates selfie-taking. The device’s battery supports printing up to 100 images, while a microSD slot provides additional storage options. Internal memory can hold approximately 45 images.
The Instax Wide Evo offers an array of creative options, including 10 lens effects and 10 film effects that can be combined for unique shots. A Degree Control ring on the lens allows users to adjust effect intensity, while dials enable scrolling through various effects. The camera also features additional film style customizations for nostalgic film effects and incorporates a crank to initiate prints, reminiscent of traditional film camera mechanics.
Smartphone connectivity is a key feature of the Instax Wide Evo. The camera connects to smartphones via Bluetooth, functioning as a portable printer and wireless remote. An accompanying app includes a Discover Feed, allowing users to share and view images within the Instax community.
With its blend of instant photography and digital technology, the Fujifilm Instax Wide Evo Hybrid Instant Camera aims to appeal to both photography enthusiasts and casual users seeking a versatile imaging solution.
