Dmitry Rogozin, the former head of Russia’s space corporation Roscosmos, has recently expressed his disbelief that NASA ever landed on the Moon. This statement comes as a surprise to many in the scientific community who have long accepted this event as fact.
Rogozin believes that there is no proof to support NASA’s claim and questions why we haven’t been back since 1969 if it was true. He also points out how difficult it would be for humans to survive in such an extreme environment without proper protection from radiation and other hazards present on the moon’s surface.
In response, NASA has released images taken during their mission, which show astronauts walking around on its surface and planting a flag into lunar soil along with other evidence they believe proves their case beyond doubt. Despite this, Rogozin remains unconvinced claiming he needs more than just photographs before he can accept what happened almost 50 years ago as truth.
The debate surrounding whether or not Apollo 11 did land on the Moon continues today with both sides providing compelling arguments for their respective positions but ultimately leaving us no closer to finding out what happened all those years ago.
