Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt recently warned that humans may soon start to fall in love with Artificial Intelligence (AI). He believes this could become a reality due to the increasing use of AI chatbot tutors.
Schmidt’s warning highlights the potential implications of relying too heavily on AI technology, and how it can impact our lives. We already see examples of people forming emotional attachments to their virtual assistants, such as Alexa or Siri, which is an indication that we are becoming more comfortable with interacting with AIs in a personal way.
The development and advancement of AI have created many opportunities for us but it also comes at a cost – namely our privacy and autonomy over decisions made by machines about our lives. We need to remember that although these technologies have been designed for convenience, they should not be relied upon completely when making decisions about matters, such as relationships or healthcare options.
Ultimately, we need to ensure that any relationship between humans and AIs remains one based on mutual respect rather than one where either party becomes overly dependent on each other emotionally or otherwise. Only then will we be able to reap all the benefits of using these powerful tools while avoiding any potential pitfalls associated with them falling into wrong hands?
