Eufy Unveils EufyCam S3 Pro with Advanced Night Vision and Apple Home Compatibility
Anker’s smart home subsidiary, Eufy, has launched its latest security camera, the EufyCam S3 Pro, featuring cutting-edge night vision technology and compatibility with Apple’s smart home ecosystem. The new camera, which debuts this week, promises to revolutionize home security with its ability to display clear, daylight-like footage even in complete darkness.
The EufyCam S3 Pro comes equipped with MaxColor Vision technology, powered by a 1/1.8-inch CMOS sensor, F1.0 aperture, and an AI-powered image signal processor. This innovative feature allows the camera to capture high-quality, color footage in low-light conditions without relying on its built-in spotlight.
In addition to its advanced night vision capabilities, the S3 Pro incorporates dual motion detection, combining radar sensing and passive infrared (PIR) technology. This combination is designed to reduce false alerts by up to 99 percent, ensuring more accurate and reliable security monitoring.
The camera offers free facial recognition, package detection, vehicle detection, and pet detection features. It also provides local video storage through the included HomeBase S380, eliminating the need for monthly subscription fees. The HomeBase comes with 16GB of onboard storage, expandable up to 16TB.
One of the most notable aspects of the EufyCam S3 Pro is its compatibility with Apple Home and HomeKit Secure Video. This marks Eufy’s return to Apple’s smart home platform since the EufyCam 2 series in 2019. Eufy spokesperson Brett White confirmed that future devices are also planned to have Apple Home compatibility.
The S3 Pro boasts impressive power management features, including a 13,000 mAh battery that can last up to 365 days on a single charge. A built-in solar panel and an included external solar panel can further extend the camera’s operational time, with claims that just one hour of sunlight per day can keep it fully charged.
For users requiring continuous surveillance, the S3 Pro can record 24/7 when connected to a power source via USB-C. The camera records at up to 4K resolution and includes features such as full-duplex two-way audio, a dual-mic array, a 100dB siren, and motion-activated voice warnings.
Following security and privacy concerns in 2022, Eufy has published a new list of privacy commitments on its website. The company has also undergone an assessment by cybersecurity expert Ralph Echemendia, who confirmed that Eufy has met all proactive and reactive security benchmarks.
The EufyCam S3 Pro is now available as a two-camera bundle with one HomeBase S380 for $549.99, offering consumers a comprehensive and advanced home security solution.
