DJI, the renowned technology company, has introduced its latest innovation in the portable power market: the DJI Power 1kW Super Fast Car Charger. Priced at $299 in the US and €269 in Europe, this new device boasts an impressive charging capacity of up to 1000W, marking a significant advancement in DC-to-DC charging technology for solar generators and power stations.
The Power 1kW Super Fast Car Charger is designed to connect directly to a vehicle’s alternator while the engine is running. Installation involves mounting the unit inside the vehicle and connecting it to the car’s battery using a 5-meter fused cable. This charger is compatible with DJI’s Power 1000 power station and 2048Wh Power 2000 Expansion Batteries, offering versatility for various portable power needs.
One of the standout features of this new charger is its ability to reverse-charge the car’s battery, preventing potential drain issues. In terms of charging performance, the device can fully charge a 1024Wh battery in just over an hour when operating at full power.
While the default output is set at 500W, users can adjust it to the maximum 1000W with an additional dongle. In the US market, DJI is including the required Power Dongle as a complimentary gift with the charger.
Comparing the DJI Power 1kW Super Fast Car Charger to its competitors, it outperforms both the EcoFlow Alternator Charger (800W) and the Bluetti AC500 (560W) in terms of charging capacity. EcoFlow’s product features a proprietary connector similar to DJI’s, while Bluetti offers broader compatibility but at a lower charging rate.
Experts note that to fully utilize the charger’s capabilities, vehicles should be equipped with a high-capacity alternator. This new product from DJI represents a significant step forward in the rapidly evolving portable power market, offering users faster charging times and increased flexibility for their power needs on the go.
