The first-ever Chick-fil-A restaurant, located in Atlanta, Georgia has closed its doors after more than 50 years of serving customers. The original location opened in 1967 and was the first of what would become a nationwide chain. It served as an anchor for the Greenbriar Mall until it closed on October 30th, 2020 due to declining sales and customer traffic at the mall.
Chick-fil-A’s CEO Dan Cathy released a statement saying he was saddened by the closure but that they were thankful for all their loyal customers who had visited over the years. He also thanked his team members who worked hard every day to provide great service and delicious food to their guests during this period.
The closing marks an end of an era for many Atlantans who grew up eating at this iconic restaurant or took their children there when they were young themselves; however, fans can still enjoy Chick-fil-A’s signature chicken sandwiches from any one of its other locations throughout America or online ordering options via delivery services, such as DoorDash or Grubhub.
