Apple Unveils Sleeker, More Powerful Watch Series 10
Apple has officially unveiled its latest smartwatch, the Apple Watch Series 10, marking a decade since the device’s initial launch. The new iteration boasts larger screens and enhanced features while maintaining a surprisingly lightweight design.
At the recent Glowtime event, attendees had the opportunity for a hands-on experience with the Series 10. The watch retains a familiar appearance but showcases an updated, thinner profile. Screen sizes have increased to 42mm and 46mm, up from the Series 9’s 41mm and 45mm, without compromising on comfort or feeling bulky on the wrist.
The Series 10’s display is a standout feature, offering 40 percent more brightness than its predecessor. The always-on mode has been significantly improved, now refreshing every second instead of once per minute, providing a more responsive user experience.
Available in various materials, the titanium models, particularly the new rose gold option, exude a sleek aesthetic. The all-black Ultra 2 and jet black Series 10 have also garnered attention for their visual appeal. However, some users may find the new clasp on the black Ultra 2 Milanese Loop challenging to operate.
In terms of functionality, Apple demonstrated the watch’s sleep apnea detection feature, which is currently awaiting FDA clearance. Interestingly, this feature utilizes the accelerometer rather than SpO2 sensors. The Series 10 also incorporates a new processor and depth gauge, enhancing its overall capabilities.
The Apple Watch Series 10 will be available in black, silver, and rose gold aluminum, starting at $399. For those seeking a premium option, slate, gold, and natural titanium versions will be offered, starting at $699.
As the tech community eagerly anticipates the arrival of review units for comprehensive testing, the Apple Watch Series 10 appears to be a fitting tribute to the device’s 10-year legacy, blending enhanced features with refined design.
