Today, we caught a glimpse in the life of Christopher Roberts, an influencer who passionately inspires others and develops their confidence from the ground up.
TC: Christopher, tell us more about your journey. I understand your upbringing was less than ideal; how did you become who you are today?
CR: Thank you for having me! I have been out of home since I was 14, never even finished 10th grade. To add to all of that, I’ve suffered from chronic panic disorder for most of my life. In 2018, I was broke, overweight, dealing with chronic anxiety, and was a single father to my two-year-old son, Dante. I genuinely thought all the cards were stacked against me.
It wasn’t until I came across some profound wisdom from a few books that I’d decided to make an effort to change my life. The more I read, the more I realized how life-changing some of the material was. Today I have several companies that have made over 3.5M in sales, more than 35 employees, and now I’ve nearly finished writing a book.
My goal was to set up passive income so I could focus on changing people’s lives. Now my mission is to bring as many people with me on this journey as I can. When you don’t let anything get in your way, you’d be amazed at what you can achieve.
TC: Fascinating, who are your role models? What inspires Christopher Roberts?
CR: My role models are Jim Rohn, Anthony Robbins, Les Brown, and Tom Bilyeu. They all have been critical in my forward path to success.
I am always humbled and inspired by stories of people’s adversities, how they have overcome various challenges, and succeeded despite a seemingly grim reality.
TC: Cannot agree more! Tell us more about what you do and about the book you wrote?
CR: I am currently the director of a Civil Company and a few other smaller businesses. I wrote a book called Breaking The Bonds Of Mediocrity – which is self-published and will soon be released.
One thing that I have learned, which is prominent in my book, is that humans really can do anything. We hear it a lot, but with practice, we can become masters at anything. Unfortunately, in my experience, people tend to become really good at mediocre things.
TC: What would you say is your most memorable experience?
CR: Probably right after I started making serious money, I wanted to give back because I had experienced my own struggles. Inspired by Tony Robbins, I came across a family one Christmas going through a rough time financially. I surprised the mother with $500 worth of gifts, food, and necessities.
This woman had no idea who I was, but I did my research on finding someone who needed help. There was never a greater feeling I had experienced that seeing the tears of joy from this mother and her family. Knowing how grateful they were, I went out of my way to make their holidays special. You never forget something like that.
TC: Wow, truly inspiring! Which social media channels work best for promoting your work?
CR: Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook.
TC: Greatest fear?
CR: I believe my life is a gift, not an obligation. I don’t have any personal fears because I understand the reality of life, and I would rather die than not reach my true potential.
TC: Interesting, so looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
CR: Better? I barely understood anything at all! Haha, I was a clean slate. When you start that low, the only way is up, as they say.
TC: What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
CR: Once I developed some financial security, I started courses on psychology NLP masters, marketing, hypnosis, psychotherapy, coaching masters, and emotional intelligence courses.
I read books, watched videos, and would train HARD 5 days a week. But out of all of that, meditation is probably the most important thing I started doing.
TC: What keeps you going when things get tough?
CR: When things get tough, I change the meaning of tough. I only visualize great things for myself, and you can’t feel down when you see great ideas concerning your future. That is a big one.
TC: Ending on a high note! Thank you, Christopher. Any message for our readers?
CR: Be mindful of what you practice, because you will become an expert at it with time.
If you don’t have a dream or goal guiding your life in a specific direction, you will be the same person ten years from now.
In order to achieve anything, the first step is working on yourself, even before committing to something. You need to change your belief set, and acknowledge that it is something you can accomplish.
If you repeat something to yourself long enough, you’ll eventually believe it. Then you can work on accomplishing it.
TC: How can people connect with you?
CR: You can connect via Instagram or LinkedIn at Christopher Roberts.
