Retro Remake, a rising player in the retro gaming market, has announced the opening of preorders for its highly anticipated SuperStation One console. This innovative device, designed as a clone of the PS One variant of the original PlayStation, has already generated significant buzz among gaming enthusiasts.
The initial Founders Edition, priced at $149.99, sold out rapidly upon release. However, eager fans can still secure a standard SuperStation One for $179.99, with shipping expected in “Q4 or Earlier.”
The SuperStation One boasts an impressive array of features that set it apart from typical retro consoles. Built as a custom MiSTER FPGA machine, it offers compatibility with a wide range of gaming cores, from the Atari 5200 and NES to more advanced systems like the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. Notably, the device is region-free and supports all MiSTer FPGA cores, including N64 and Sega Saturn.
In terms of design, the SuperStation One closely resembles the PS One and is available in black, gray, and translucent blue. It comes equipped with a 64GB Micro SD card and features three USB-A ports, an ethernet port, and an NFC reader. The console utilizes USB-C for power, ensuring easy connectivity with modern setups.
Retro gaming enthusiasts will appreciate the SuperStation One’s comprehensive video and audio output options. The device includes HDMI, VGA, DIN10, composite, and component ports, catering to various retro gaming setups. Additionally, it features a 3.5mm audio jack and a digital audio port for high-quality sound output.
Retro Remake has also announced plans for a SuperDock accessory, which will add a slot-loading disc drive, a 2280 m.2 SSD bay, and four additional USB-A ports. While not yet available for preorder, customers can place a $5 deposit for the SuperDock when ordering the SuperStation One.
As Retro Remake’s first console, the SuperStation One marks a significant milestone for the company. Taki Udon, the company’s spokesperson, has hinted at plans for future consoles, suggesting a long-term commitment to the retro gaming market.
