Nvidia Unveils Groundbreaking AI Music Editor Fugatto
Tech giant Nvidia has introduced a revolutionary AI music editor named Fugatto, capable of generating unique music, sounds, and speech using untrained text and audio inputs. This innovative tool pushes the boundaries of audio creation, even producing unprecedented sounds like a trumpet that meows.
Fugatto’s capabilities extend far beyond conventional music editing. The AI can generate music based on imaginative prompts, such as creating a saxophone that howls and barks before transitioning into electronic music with dogs barking. It also excels in producing unique sound effects from descriptions, like “deep, rumbling bass pulses paired with intermittent, high-pitched digital chirps.”
The tool’s versatility doesn’t stop there. Fugatto can transform voices by altering accents or tones, making a voice sound angry or calm as desired. It can also edit existing music by isolating vocals, adding instruments, or altering melodies – even swapping a piano for an opera singer.
Nvidia’s researchers trained Fugatto on a diverse range of datasets, including the BBC’s sound effects library. The team compiled millions of audio samples and developed specific instructions to expand the model’s task range and accuracy.
While other tech giants like Stability AI, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, ElevenLabs, and Adobe have their own AI audio tools, Fugatto claims to create entirely new and unheard-of sounds. However, the AI music creation landscape is not without controversy, as some AI startups face copyright lawsuits over their music creation tools.
As of now, Nvidia has not specified a release date or confirmed whether Fugatto will be made publicly available. The tech community eagerly awaits further announcements about this groundbreaking AI music editor.
