Apple Unveils Refreshed 24-inch iMac with M4 Processor
Apple has announced a significant update to its 24-inch iMac lineup, introducing the new M4 processor and expanding its range of features. The refresh, part of a broader update to Apple’s Mac lineup, brings increased performance and enhanced capabilities to the popular all-in-one desktop computer.
The updated iMac now comes with 16GB of RAM as standard, doubling the previous base configuration of 8GB. This boost in memory is designed to better support the new AI-powered features in macOS Sequoia 15.1, setting a new baseline for future AI developments on Apple’s desktop platforms.
Available in an array of vibrant colors including green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, blue, and silver, the new iMac maintains its sleek design while offering improved internals. The base model features an 8-core CPU and 8-core GPU, with storage options starting at 256GB and upgradeable to 512GB or 1TB.
Apple has also updated the accompanying peripherals, with the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse or Magic Trackpad now featuring USB-C ports for improved connectivity. For users seeking to reduce screen glare, a nano-textured glass option is available at an additional cost.
The refreshed iMac lineup starts at $1,299 for the base model, with higher-end configurations beginning at $1,499. These premium models offer additional Thunderbolt 4 ports and further upgrade options. Customers can customize their iMacs with up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of storage, allowing for a tailored experience based on individual needs and budgets.
Preorders for the new 24-inch iMac are now available directly from Apple, with the official release date set for November 8th. This release marks another step in Apple’s transition to its own silicon, with more announcements expected in the near future as the company continues to refresh its Mac lineup.
