Lyft CEO David Risher recently spoke with CNN about the company’s plans for self-driving cars. He said that Lyft is doing “everything we can” to be ready for when they arrive, which will be “faster than you think”.
Risher also discussed how the company wants to make travel less stressful and believes that Uber and Lyft don’t need to compete to succeed. He stated that there is enough room in the market for both companies, as long as each one focuses on improving customer experience.
In addition, he noted that self-driving cars are only part of what makes up a successful ride-sharing service; it takes more than just technology alone. The human element still plays an important role in providing customers with a positive experience from start to finish – something neither Uber nor Lyft can ignore if they want their businesses to thrive over time.
Ultimately, Risher believes both companies have much potential ahead of them but must find ways to collaborate rather than compete against one another if either hopes to reach its full potential down the road.
